Lilac Frock: Working the shoulder closure’s button loops
This tutorial shows how to work the shoulder closure of the Lilac Frock knitting pattern by Frogginette Knitting Patterns.
DIRECTIONS:
Notes:
I am showing only 2 button loops here, but you can work more using the same method, just make sure they are spaced evenly.
You are working the bind off on the WS:
Bind off a couple of stitches (as per pattern) knitwise.
Slip leftover st from right needle to left needle, * knit this stitch, then slip it back onto left needle, ** work from * to ** another 4 times (or fewer, or more depending on the size of your button), then knit the stitch. You have 1 st on your right needle.
Continue binding off knitwise until you have 2 unworked sts on your left needle (or the same number as you bound off when you started) and 1 leftover st on your right needle.
Slip leftover sts from right needle to left needle, * knit this stitch, then slip it back onto left needle, ** work from * to ** another 4 times (i.e. matching the first button loop), then knit the stitch. You have 1 st on your right needle.
Bind off remaining stitches knitwise.
