DIRECTIONS:

  • On the RS, knit to the point where you are supposed to “turn” (as per pattern). Turn your work so the WS now faces you.

  • Sl1p wyif (i.e. slip one stitch as if to purl from with yarn held in front) , then firmly pull working yarn directly over right-hand needle from the front to the back of the work, rotating the slipped stitch until it shows two legs, then bring working yarn back to the front between needles and purl next stitch tightly.

  • Knit until you reach the double stitch (there is a “gap” immediately following it). Treat the double stitch as a single stitch, knitting through both its legs at the same time (like a k2tog). Knit to end of row.

  • Purl until you reach the double stitch. Purl though both its legs at the same time (like a p2tog). Purl to end of row.
