Sweet Mochi: Bobble bind off

This tutorial corresponds to the bind off for the sleeves and skirt of the Sweet Mochi dress knitting pattern by Frogginette Knitting Patterns.

Note: the bobble is a 5 stitch bobble.

DIRECTIONS:

If worked flat, working over a multiple of 4 + 2: K1, work [MB, (k1, pass second st on the needle over first st) x3, i.e. bind off 3 sts] until 1 st remains, MB. Cut yarn and slip tail through loop to secure. Threading a needle with yarn tail, close up the last bobble on the WS to give it a round shape.

If worked in the round, working over a multiple of 4 + 1: K1, work [MB, (k1, pass second st on the needle over first st) x3, i.e. bind off 3 sts] to end. Cut yarn and slip tail through loop to secure. Threading a needle with yarn tail, close up the last bobble on the WS to give it a round shape.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:

M5: make 5 into 1 increase: knit into front and back of same stitch twice without dropping stitch from the needle, then knit into front of stitch again and drop stitch from the needle

MB: make bobble: M5, turn to WS, p5, turn to RS, k5 turn to WS, p5, turn to RS, sl1p wyib, k2tog, pass second st on right needle over first st on right needle, k2tog, (pass second st on right needle over first st on right needle) x2. Shape the bobble with your fingers to give it a round shape.
