Neckline fix
My simple no-crochet fix for a stretched-out or too-wide neckline
NEW AND IMPROVED METHOD! German Short Rows in the round. I found a new trick that gets rid that ugly gap/stretched out stitch that you get when you work short rows in the round. The "double stitch" (ds) on RS and on WS are each worked as usual and "resolved" as usual EXCEPT for the last ds.
This video demonstrates how to add some structure in the back neck and/or shoulder area of a sweater to help counteract the stretched out necklines that sometimes happen over time (or immediately!) with seamless sweaters - or to correct (to a point!) a too-wide neck-opening.
You can work the bind-off only on the back neck area as I did, or you can go into the top of the sleeves as well (it's so easy to do, you can take it out and experiment until it's just right).
Tip: Use the same yarn and diameter needle as you used for the body of the sweater. If you are comfortable using a crochet hook, you can use the same principle and crochet a slip stitch chain.
