The pattern is knit top-down, with only minimal finishing. The sleeves are knit in the round. This is a very quick and easy knit!

SIZES:

0-3 months (3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 2/3T, 3/4T)

  • To fit chest sizes 16 (17, 18, 19, 22, 23) inches or 40.5 (43, 46, 48, 56, 58) cm.

  • Finished garment has chest circumferences of 19 (19.5, 21, 22.5, 24, 24.5) inches or 48 (49.5, 53.5, 57.5, 61, 62.5) cm.

GAUGE:

14 sts x 20 rows = 4 inches or 10 cm in stockinette stitch

YARN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Jacket (short) version: approximately 200 (250, 300, 350, 400, 450) yds or 183 (229, 274, 320, 366, 411) m of light bulky/chunky weight yarn (heavy worsted is also possible).

  • Coat (long) version: approximately 250 (300, 350, 400, 500, 550) yds or 229 (274, 320, 366, 457, 503) m.

Cascade 128 is used for the long sample, Cascade Eco+ (non-superwash), is used for the short sample. Any similar weight yarn can be substituted.

NEEDLES/NOTIONS:

  • circular needles, size US10 (6mm) or size needed to get gauge, length should be at least 29”

  • 1 set of size US10 (6mm) double-pointed needles (or size needed to get gauge)

  • 4 stitch markers

  • 2 stitch holders or scrap yarn

  • tapestry needle

  • 3 (or 4 if knitting bigger sizes) 3/4” buttons
